.
Jimmie, my musician and singer, and I had a hard time recording this song for Kevin. Jimmie’s younger brother, George, was one of Kevin’s best friends during childhood and so Jimmie knew him too. We were recording in Kevin’s bedroom, using Kevin’s guitar, and sitting at the same place where Kevin would have been sleeping on his bed. His room is now my music studio. Emotionally it was very draining for both Jimmie and I.
.
I wrote this song for Kevin while sitting at his grave and I began singing to him. He needs to rest in peace, but I need to live in peace. I wish I could have him back, but I can’t, so I take him with me everywhere in my heart and keep his memory alive by my words and music.
